What Are The Akashic Records?

The Akashic Records are a higher dimensional compendium of all universal events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intentions that have ever occurred. 

You could think of the Akashic Records as the Book of Life for the collective unconsciousness. It is a sacred text that holds the past, present and possibilities of the future. Although it isn’t a book in the sense that we can turn the page, that metaphor can be helpful in conceptualizing it on the physical plane.

Why not the collective consciousness you might ask? Because a consciousness implies something we have a constant, immediate, tangible awareness of. The value of the Akashic Records is that it contains information so much more valuable and deeper than what we know consciously… it is a non-physical vibrational library of energetic knowledge that isn’t limited by traditional time and space.

What does the Akashic Record reveal about a soul’s journey in the present and future? 

The present is looking at it as the person’s point of power because this is where you’re at in this moment. This is where you’re living. The past is everything previously. The future holds any type of possibility because humans have free will and free choice. It’s not like looking in a crystal ball. It doesn’t predict the future, but it could look at future possibilities for that person. It encompasses what can be.

How does information from the Akashic Records apply to the physical plane? 

The Akashic Records will always give inspiration and guidance. It’s always within their grasp and realm to provide enough information to help someone get to the next step in their physical life. Obviously, the Records won’t give you concrete answers such as “You need to move to Santa Fe.” But they will provide you guidance to help you understand the path you should take that will lead you to where you are meant to be for your best and highest purpose. You already know the answers to your question deep inside. The Records help you tune into that understanding and guide you towards those decisions that you’re meant to make.

What does it mean to access the Akashic Records? 

The Akashic Records are a look at a person’s soul journey from its very, very beginning until the present moment. You can only access a person’s records with their express permission in order to look at what their records contain about the past, present and possibilities for the future. So to “access the Akashic Records” means to enter the vibrations that allow us to see all of those energies. Readers open the Akashic Records with the recitation of a sacred prayer. It is the same process when the records are closed.

How do our belief systems interact with the Akashic Records? 

The Akashic Records are not a religion. If you hold a belief system that teaches you not to interfere with divine plans or your future, you might conceive of the Akashic Records as the occult, but that’s not the case. Carrying in a misconception or limiting beliefs like that will interfere with your reading and the guidance you can receive. If you’re open and very willing to learn about your soul, your soul’s path, and how you can expand, you will find the experience can strengthen your existing belief system. Your reading is going to be very robust, because that’s the vibration that you’re going to have the records meet you at. 

How should I look for an Akashic Record reader?

There are many people who offer Akashic Records readings. Maybe you know someone who can refer you to a reader. You might not know anyone who can refer you and may be doing a Google search. Regardless, you want to work with someone that feels comfortable to you and you feel a level of comfort with. You will want to consider things like how long they’ve been doing readings and if they’ve studied under others. How long have they been learning and working with Akashic Records? Do they offer discovery calls where you can learn more about them? It’s important that you feel that you resonate with one another. A good reader will understand if you want to learn about them and be sure the two of you are connecting.

Many people hear names like Edgar Cayce, Rudolf Steiner, Jennifer Longmore, and Linda Howe associated with the concept of the Akashic Records. Who are they?

Edgar Cayce is kind of like the father of Akashic Records in a sense. It is where he received many of his insights. Rudolph Steiner studied a lot of Cayce’s work and brought Akashic Records into the mainstream. Jennifer Longmore developed the Soul Journeys^® Method for Akashic Record Consultations.  Linda Howe furthered their work by developing the commonly used Pathway Prayer Process^© that many readers use to open and close the Akashic Records when they do readings. Both Jennifer and Linda were valuable mentors in my Akashic studies.
